About This Vineyard

The Fleury organic vineyards are located on chalky slopes on both sides of the Seine valley, 90% planted with pinot noir and the rest with chardonnay. Biodynamic since 1989, Champagne Fleury has for many years had a reputation for innovation. In 1904 Emile Fleury was the first to plant grafted pinot noir vines in the area after the phylloxera invasion. In 1929 his son Robert made his first bottles of champagne from a single vintage. Subsequently, Jean-Pierre Fleury was the first grower in Champagne to convert to biodynamic farming. In 1989, 3 hectares to start with and in 1992 the rest of the estate.
