About This Vineyard
The village of Cumières lies five miles from Epernay, at the heart of Champagne, on the right bank of the Marne. The south-facing slopes, the typical soil and subsoil and the microclimate, helped categorize the soils of Cumières as a premiere cru. Descendants of an old family of wine growers and artisans, Nicole and Georges Laval have worked their vines organically since 1971. Vincent Laval took over in 1996. He worked 2.5 hectares of vineyards and develops 9,000 bottles of Champagne a year. Organic helps preserve the original aroma and flavors of our land and can produce great champagnes.” Any technique or product that may pose a risk to the environmental and public health or impair the quality of wine are excluded.
