About This Vineyard
The young Etienne Grivot, who now runs his father’s estate, is one of Burgundy’s promising talents. The estate is blessed with a number of parcels of exceptionally good land – 25 acres in all. He has 4.5 acres of Clos de Vougeot and nearly 10 of Vosne Romanee, including 2.3 in the excellent Premier Cru, Beaumonts. He also has bits of Suchots and Brulees, which are sandwiched between the Grand Crus Richebourg and Echezeaux, as well as five acres of Nuits Premier Cru and 1.5 acres of Chambolle-Musigny. Grivot believes in dense planting for small crops. The emphasis is on full, rich organic Pinot Noir fruit. He likes ripe wines without ‘brutality’ but with bouquet.
