About This Vineyard

Nuova Cappelletta is an organic estate focused on quality wine making and vineyard management. Also ‘Piemontese’ cattle breeding and cereal growing are carried out at the farm, as part of a sustainable farming approach. The farm is located in Vignale Monferrato, Italy, and about 30 HA (74 acres) are vineyards. Nuova Cappelletta grows grapes traditional to Piedmont, selected and improved through the years. The varieties are Grignolino, Barbera, Freisa, Nebbiolo, Cortese and Chardonnay. Only grapes from the farm’s own vineyards are used as ingredients to the DOC certified wines of Nuova Cappelletta wines. The entire estate has been certified for organic farming since 1986 and all its produce meets the Demeter standards for biodynamic agriculture.

JS 94 WE 93 Pts. - According to James Suckling - This is very floral with blackberries on the nose. It's full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a ripe fruit, caramel and berry aftertaste. Delicious for the vintage. One of the wines of the vintage. Better in 2015. According to Wine Enthusiast - Brunello Tenuta Nuova opens with inky dark consistency and immediate aromas of old spice, leather, toasted oak and dried fruit that pop right out of the glass. Dark licorice and espresso add to the overall complexity. There’s a touch of sweet spice on the closewith ripe, chewy tannins. Rated 90+

This wine is from Italy, Tuscany region, Brunello Di Montalcino sub-region. Casanova di Neri was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri. Located in Montalcino, Italy, the estate has produced exceptional Brunellos since its debut vintage in 1978. The estate is currently run by Giovanni’s son Giacomo, a humble vintner who perpetually searches for ways to improve his wines. Giacomo’s hard work and commitment to the Neri legacy has been duly recognized in 2006, his Tenuta Nuova was named Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator and his 2001 Brunello Cerretalto was awarded 100 points. The 120 acre estate is divided into four sites Pietradonice in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, Cetine in Sant’Angelo in Colle, Cerretalto a natural amphitheatre located near the Asso River and Fiesole, the oldest vineyard situated northeast of Montalcino. Giacomo produces three categories of Brunello: the vineyard blend White Label and two single vineyard wines, Tenuta Nuova and Cerretalto. All the fruit is hand-picked and the wines age for at least 24 months in oak barrels of varying sizes before release. Casanova di Neri Brunellos are elegant wines that manage to balance wonderful raciness alongwith great concentration and structure. Each one exhibits Tuscan typicity, crafted in a modern style..
