About This Vineyard
Rees Miller Estate is a biodynamic farm and vineyard at Yea, just north of the Yarra Valley in Victoria, Australia. It is owned and managed by Sylke Rees and David Miller. Sylke manages the vineyard and David manages the winery. Together we produce four organic wines – pinot noir, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz.
We are both fascinated by the challenge of combining an environmental approach to agriculture with producing great organic wine, and work from the concept that the best wine comes from the fusion of respect for the natural rhythmns of the land with an appreciation of the traditional processes of winemaking.
In winemaking, we strive to simply allow the flavours of the fruit and therefore the special character of the vineyard to be reflected in the wine. It takes a whole year’s effort to produce just one bottle of wine. That effort is directed towards one outcome, to produce a bottle of wine with a natural richness, quality and individuality that is thrilling to open, consume and share with friends.
