About This Vineyard
Rippon Vineyard is the most photographed vineyard in the world and certainly one of the most picturesque. The organic vineyard is located on the western shores of Lake Wanaka. The property has been in the Mills family for four generations and current winemaker Nick Mills is crafting superb Pinot Noir reflective of his extensive training in Burgundy. He is dedicated to biodynamic farming. The winery remains a small family operation, with the winery housed in an old lambing barn. Rippon’s vines are among the oldest in the region with most plantings dating to 1985-1991. 80% of the 30-acre vineyard is planted on its own roots and is not irrigated. Rippon organic wines are available by mail order or internet, from select wine outlets and are exported to a number of countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States of America and Japan.
