Cabernet Sauvignon is known for creating wines of amazing density and complexity with both concentrated and nuanced flavors. In making Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon, I like to add to these layers of flavor by blending in small amounts of other red varietals to add color, texture and a bit of spice. This Cabernet offers aromas of Bing cherry, currant and raspberry with spicy notes of cedar, dried cranberry and vanilla. In the glass, you will find juicy red berry flavors and a very approachable, rich and full mouthfeel with a lingering and thoughtful finish. Good structure, and polished, yet soft tannins promise an ever more pleasing wine to come, with lively acidity and subtle spice. This is a Cabernet Sauvignon which will continue to evolve and remain enjoyable for quite some time to come.

Aromas of plum, red fruit, vanilla, and a hint of bell pepper on the nose. Smooth and silky mouth feel. This is a young Mendocino County big red. Hotness and astringency (especially on the aftertaste) may decline if it's allowed to age more (this seemed to happen with older vintages (2005 and 2006).

I have had better and worse. Middle of the road. Easy drinking for sure. Good to pour a glass and just shoot the breeze with someone. Doesn't need food really. Cheers.

A deep, dark red with notes of pepper , vanilla, and plum. Noticeably flat finish.
