"The cask-aged 2008 Pinot Noir Meczan is a very pretty, unfussy red with lovely varietal character and classy, understated personality. There is nothing fancy about the Meczan, yet I remain impressed by its sheer drinkability and seductiveness. Readers should enjoy this inviting Pinot while the fruit is vibrant. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014..." WA 08/10 Proprietor Martin Foradori may be best known for his higher-end wines, but readers will find plenty to like in these more approachable entry-level offerings.

A lively ruby red color. It has exuberant and fresharomas reminiscent of woodland berry fruits and cherry forming a harmonious bouquet, rich and elegant on the palate. It is well-balanced, medium bodied with rich flavors and a lasting finish.

The color is a translucent crimson/ruby. Elegant but concentrated palate, lightish body. Corrupt cherries, a touch of wood. This wine is a total winner and would basically go with anything, but would be best with a rustic, northern italian dish.
