About This Vineyard
The Castello di Tassarolo organic vineyards surround the castle. The estate has 20 hectares devoted to organic Cortese vines, the indigenous variety dedicated to Gavi D.O.C.G. wines, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera and Chardonnay planted on a further four hectares. All grapes are hand picked and lightly pressed, with yields never exceeding 65%. The estate winery processes only estate grapes under temperature and sterile controls. Five different organic wines are made by Massimiliana Spinola and her enologist Vincenzo Munì, who harmonizes family traditions with current enological expertise.
