About This Vineyard

In 1985 Marinella Camerani made the decision to move to the country to pursue her dream of returning to her family roots and living on the land. She invested all of her savings and energy into revitalizing what had been her family’s weekend country estate above the village of Mezzane de Sotto. Marinella set about the arduous task of restoring the vineyards, which, as she likes to point out, are her great passion. She began the first vintage without any serious winemaking background.

Making the most of what knowledge she had, and taking the advice of expert consultants, she established an identity for the organic wines of her estate by creating a sterling example of the regions’s most representative wine, Amarone. Amarone is a wine that had almost been abandoned in favour of less demanding products. Her organic wines have achieved an increasingly precise and convincing character as she seeks to reconcile and harmonize terroir and modernity. It is Marinella’s fervent aim and hope, along with other top producers in the area, to restore the Valpolicella appellation to its rightful place among Italy’s outstanding wine production areas.
