About This Vineyard
Cowaramup Wines is located in the heart of the Margaret River wine region between the township of Cowaramup and the Indian Ocean. Situated on the gentle slopes of the upper reaches of the picturesque Ellensbrook, the organic vineyard thrives in the maritime climate and gravely loam soils. Established in 1995 by the Reynolds family, the vineyard has developed to over 42 acres in size offering such varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
Since its inception, a strong emphasis has been adopted on implementing biodynamic and organic practices in the vineyard. These practices harness the natural biodiversity within the vineyard in order to maximise quality and freshness in the grapes and is a true expression of the ‘terroir’ of this location. Low yielding practices, trellising and canopy management techniques are combined to produce premium organic wines of the finest quality.
Clown Fish is the first range of organic wines produced by Cowaramup Wines. The grapes are sourced solely from the property at Ellensbrook. A real family affair with owners Russell and Marilyn Reynolds overseeing the operation, sons Cameron (Viticulturist) and Anthony (Winemaker) working together to produce wines of the highest quality. The aim of the Clown Fish series is to produce organic wines with distinctive Margaret River characters and personality, crafted with the greatest care and attention to detail.
