About This Vineyard
Often referred to as « Gold of the Earth » Pouilly-Fuissé is a ‘Grand Vin Blanc de Bourgogne’ made from the Chardonnay grape variety. You will appreciate its particularly powerful and rich bouquet. It is the ideal match for seafood as well as white meats and poultry. At Domaine Barraud, we make 6 different Pouilly-Fuissé wines from different parcels of land. Each organic wine has its own personality that reflects the very soil from which it originates, thereby faithfully expressing its respective terroir . Our domain is located on the slope of the Roche de Vergisson, facing the Roche de Solutré, considered a “Grand Site de France.”. Our conviction and approach are geared towards respecting nature: the vine is a plant, the earth is its garden. We therefore respect the soil by farming organically. Our objective is to produce wines that express their terroir and that can be layed down to be enjoyed in future years.
