About This Vineyard
Vezelay is a medieval village about a half hour’s drive from Chablis to the southeast. It is noted for its beautiful basilica, dedicated to Sainte-Madeleine. Vezelay is viewed as a superb choice for inexpensive dry white wine. The wines echo the character of Chablis “lively, flinty, saline and crisp” but are earlier to mature.
Domaine de Faverelles in Vezelay comprises vineyards planted mainly with Chardonnay, but also Pinot Noir and Melon grape varieties. The vines are cultivated organically without chemical treatment and the harvesting is manual.
