About This Vineyard
Mas Amiel’s fine vintage wines are made from Grenache, farmed biodynamically from very old vines which yield a miniscule amount of fruit—some 25 hl/ha. The aging process at Mas Amiel is fascinating: wines are first fortified, and then placed in large glass demi-johns outdoors to age for a year. After this, the organic wines are transferred to oak vats to age for five to 20 years.
