About This Vineyard
This organic wine estate is owned by the Jacobus family, who come from generations wine-growers. The Steyerberg consists of steep slopes on the southern side and their minimum gradient is 35 %. The wines that grow on the slate soil are exceptional, rich, full-bodied and fruity. The microclimate in the vineyards is particularly warm and dry – the Hunsrück (a low mountain range in Germany) protects them from rain and cold winds. The loving cultivation of his vines with organic supplements such as a plant treatment made on a quartz powder basis as well as compost, all in accordance with the methods of Rudolf Steiner, enable them to produce healthy grapes and tasty wines.
