‘Sustainability without sacrifice – one doesn´t have to give up or do without something in order to live and to work sustainably.’ This is the philosophy that Fred Loimer lives by. He is a happy up-beat person who enjoys life, who´s hungry for life, and is always keen to learn. He also is extremely concerned about quality, and he doesn´t leave anything to chance. And all of this is reflected in his organic wines.
‘We´ve always worked in an environmentally friendly way and with the responsibility that a farmer, and man, have to nature.’ No use of herbicides and insecticides. And only careful use of pesticides. At the end of 2005, a major and essential decision was made. The conversion to biodynamic farming began. With the help of Dr. Andrew Lorand, the agro-ecologist with more than 30 years of bio-dynamic systems experience in the USA, the conversion was implemented during the Winter of 2005/06.
