About This Vineyard
In 2000, Pedro Vicien Arizcuren and Carlos Arizu started Cabernet de Los Andes to develop organic and biodynamic wines in the remote valley of Fiambala, in Argentina. The challenges: to conduce the scarce irrigation water throught the dunes of this high altitude desert that ranges from 4500 to 6000 feet above sea level, to deal with the intense midday sunlight, and to protect from the cool night frosts. Fiambala wines are renowned for their intense color and taste. The dramatic desert conditions concentrates their flavors. The top reserve wines are made with native yeasts and aged in oak barrels.
